Presence Check-in
In this article, you can find the settings and options available to enable and configure the check-in with the sensor on the Humly Control Panel
By integrating a motion (presence) sensor in your room, you can automate and simplify the check-in experience using the Humly Control Panel. When presence is detected, room bookings are automatically checked in, removing the need for interaction with the Humly Room Display (HRD), Humly Booking Device (HBD), or manual authentication. To set up presence-based check-in, follow these steps:
- Open the Humly Control Panel and go to the resource settings for your selected room.
- Navigate to the “Sensors” section, then under “Presence”, choose your installed motion sensor from the dropdown menu.
- Ensure the “Check-in required” option is enabled, as this activates the check-in feature.
- Enable “Presence check-in”. Once a motion sensor is selected, the option to enable presence-based check-in becomes available. Check this box to allow automatic check-in when motion is detected in the room.
- Click “Save” to apply your changes.

If the room is booked and within the check-in duration window (e.g., 15 minutes after meeting starts):

If motion is detected, the room will be automatically marked as checked in.

If no motion is detected, the meeting will be removed according to your check-in settings.

If a meeting is already in progress, motion-based check-in will occur only after the current meeting ends. If no prior meeting was scheduled, check-in by presence will be available as usual, starting 10 minutes before the booking.
If no motion sensor is selected in the “Sensors” section, the “Enable presence check-in” option will remain disabled. You can still use this feature alongside manual check-in and check-in reminder functionality.
