Humly Sense - Disruptive Technologies
This guide will help you set up Humly Sense and integrate Disruptive Technologies sensors with Humly Control Panel and Humly devices.
Complete the steps below to start using your disruptive technologies sensors with Humly.
- Complete the Cloud Connector and Sensors configurations
- Create a service account
- Configure Humly Control Panel Settings
- Configure Humly Sensors on Humly Room Displays - HRDs
- Configure Humly Sensors on Humly Booking Devices - HBDs
- Troubleshooting
Complete the Cloud Connector and Sensors configurations
The first step in the sensors integration configuration is to configure and prepare your setup in the Disruptive Technologies studio.
Please check the steps on the Disruptive Technologies support page and follow the step-by-step guide.
Getting started with your first sensors
If your company already uses DT sensors, request that an administrator include you in the existing Organization. For additional information, please visit Distinguishing Between Organizations and Projects.
Create a service account
Now that you have prepared your DT configuration and claimed the sensors, the next step is to create a service account for Humly Sense integration.
1. Log in to the Disruptive Technologies studio. If you have multiple projects, start by selecting the project you want to configure. Once logged in, you should see a similar screen
2. Select the service account from the left menu under API Integrations, and create a new service account
3. Give the service account a name that you prefer, and click Add
4. Grant the service account a Project Developer role. Save the Service Account email as you will need it later.
5. Create a New Key Secret by clicking on the create icon, and the created Key details will appear. Make sure to save the Key ID and the Secret, as the secret will be shown only once.
Now you have created the service account, and you should have the following:
- Service Account email
- Key ID
- Secret
Configure Humly Control Panel Settings
After creating the service account in the previous step, you are now ready to enable the sensors integration from Humly Control Panel.
1. Navigate to your Humly Control Panel and go to the settings page
2. Check mark "Enable Sensor Integration"
3. Select Disruptive Technologies for the sensor distributor, fill in the email, key ID, and the secret you have created in the previous steps, then click save.
4. You should see a confirmation message that the credentials are saved successfully
Configure Humly Sensors on Humly Room Displays - HRDs
After enabling the sensor integration globally on Humly Control Panel, you can now configure the room with the related sensors and customize the thresholds.
For each room resource you have in Humly Control Panel, you can configure the following sensors:
- Carbon dioxide CO₂
- Temperature
- Humidity
- Motion (for future usage)
To configure the resource with the related sensors, follow the steps below:
- From the HCP resources page, filter to the structure or search for the room you want to configure, click on room settings, select the room, and click edit selected
- The room setting blade will open, scroll down to reach the sensors section
- From the drop-down menu for each sensor, select the correct sensor for the room. The list will vary based on your setup
- If you have just installed a new sensor, and you cannot find it, please click on refresh list here
- Adjust the ranges if needed and save, and you can at any point reset to default values.
- Now you should be able to see the sensor readings in Humly Control Panel for each configured room.
- On Humly Room Display - HRD, you can see the sensor data by clicking on the sensor icons on the top bar
Note:
Humly Sensors is supported on version 1.32 or later; devices with older firmware will not show the sensor date
Configure Humly Sensors on Humly Booking Devices - HBDs
It is possible to configure Humly Booking Devices - HBDs - in phone booth mode with a motion sensor, so the device will be automatically booked when the sensor detects motion, and will be released in a few minutes when no motion is detected in the configured space.
To configure the HBD with motion sensors, follow the steps below:
- Select the resource you want to configure, and go to the resource settings
- Assign the motion sensors related to the resource
- Scroll down and enable the phone booth mode, then save
Note:
The phone booth mode works only with standalone resources (without a backend), so if you found the phone booth mode grayed out, then you are not using a standalone resource.
Standalone resources can be added from structures and can be added as any resource type.
Troubleshooting
- If you have any issues with the sensors or the cloud connectors, please check the Disruptive Technologies support page
Disruptive Technologies - Troubleshooting - I have connected a new sensor, but I can not find it in the resource settings
Ensure you click the "Refresh list here" under the resource settings - HCP and HRD are showing old sensor data
Ensure the data connectors are enabled, and there are no sync errors. If you see sync errors, ensure the integration credentials are correct in HCP settings
