Release notes - 2.4
Humly suite (2026-07-18)
Humly 2.4 introduces Services in Humly Reservation (catering and other requests as part of a booking), Xyte device management, software-based check-in for resources without a Humly device, and a set of platform and API improvements across the Control Panel, Floor Plan, Visitor and Print Service.
Highlights
- Services in Humly Reservation — book catering and other services directly in the booking dialog, with automatic order emails to the responsible recipients.
- Xyte device management — register and remotely manage Humly devices through the Xyte platform from the Control Panel.
- Software Check-In — check-in and auto-cancel now work on resources that don't have a Humly Booking Device or Room Display.
- Multiple sensor integrations at once — run more than one sensor vendor integration simultaneously from a new Sensors settings section.
- Public User Management API — create, read, update and delete users (including RFID card details) over the API to pre-provision enterprise and SSO users.
- Simpler standalone setup — standalone installs default to Humly Cloud email and can be connected to an external booking system (Microsoft 365 / Google) later.
- Visitor welcome-screen branding — customize the visitor home screen with your own background image and logo, and show, hide or edit the title and subtitle texts.
- Outlook add-in for classic Outlook — the Visitor Pro add-in now works in classic Outlook on Windows and Mac.
New Features & Enhancements
Humly Reservation
- Services (Catering & Other): add catering and other service requests directly in the booking dialog and edit or remove them up until the reservation. The booking dialog is now a single, consistent modal across desktop and mobile.
- Automatic service order emails: recipients receive an email when a booking with catering or custom services is created, changed or cancelled.
- Per-resource Services settings: admins can enable Catering and Other on a resource, set recipient email addresses, and add a note shown to the person booking.
- Type-ahead participant search: start typing (after three letters) to search for participants; can be toggled in settings.
Humly Control Panel
- Xyte integration: register Humly Booking Devices and Room Displays with the Xyte asset-management platform and manage them remotely.
- Multiple sensor integrations: enable several sensor vendor integrations at the same time, now grouped under a dedicated Sensors settings section.
- Software Check-In: enable check-in and auto-cancel on resources that have no Humly device.
- Public API for user provisioning: new endpoints to create, read, update and delete users, including RFID card details, for pre-provisioning enterprise/SSO users.
- Connect standalone installs to an external booking system: a standalone/internal deployment can later be connected to Microsoft 365 or Google.
- Cloud email by default for standalone: standalone installs use Humly Cloud email out of the box, with the option to switch to a custom SMTP server.
- Automatic device pairing key (cloud): cloud setup generates the pairing key automatically and emails it, removing a manual wizard step.
- Structures access for Local Admins: Local Admins can open the Structures tab (scoped to their assigned structures) to import resources without temporary Global Admin rights.
- Bulk delete imported resources: remove multiple imported resources at once from Structures.
- Limit fields in the /rooms API: request only the properties you need from the /rooms endpoint.
Floor Plan & Wayfinding
- Structure filter: filter Wayfinding and Floor Plan screens by structure to make large deployments easier to manage.
- Embed floor plans: a new URL/API returns a "naked" floor plan (no header or footer) with live bookings for embedding in a CMS, plus an endpoint that lists available floor plans.
Humly Visitor
- Welcome screen customization: the "Logotype" settings section is now "Welcome screen", where you can upload a custom background image and logo and show, hide or edit the title and subtitle texts to match your brand.
- Classic Outlook support: the Visitor Pro Outlook add-in now works in classic Outlook (Windows/Mac); the minimum supported Outlook version has also been lowered.
Humly Signage
- "Until further notice" URL mode: keep a URL signage screen active indefinitely without setting an end date.
Humly Room Display & Booking Device
- Pull logs to USB from an unconnected device: a new button on the device diagnostic screen exports logs to USB even when the device is not paired or connected.

Known issues
-
Safari Browser Authorization: Device authorization using Safari expires after one week. Additionally, Screen Approval is not supported on Safari.
-
Proxy/Google Authentication: Running on-prem HCP with proxy and Google authentication is currently not supported.
- Login issues with MFA: Logging in to the Humly provisioning app fails if MFA is enabled. To access the app, you must temporarily disable MFA on your user account.
-
iOS Provisioning App: Onboarding Humly Booking Devices (HBDs) via the iOS app may fail in some instances. As a workaround, restart both the phone and the HBD device, then retry the onboarding process.
-
Multi-Day All-Day Meetings: Meetings marked as "All Day" spanning more than one day cannot be edited in Humly Reservations.
-
Morning Boot Freeze (Humly Room Display): In rare cases, Humly Room Displays may freeze on the logo screen during morning startup. A manual reboot resolves the issue. (Light sleep option introduced to fix this issue)
