The device status icons that indicate a bad connection will be shown in the top bar on the Humly Room Display. The device will keep track of network connections like ethernet and wi-fi, and server connection.
There are six icons for displaying various connections issues.
Please note! Status icons will not be shown on the Humly Room Display if it is in Signage Mode.
Ethernet connection
Ethernet bad connection icons can only appear if an ethernet connection was previously configured on the device. Ethernet connection has priority over a wi-fi connection. If an ethernet connection is in use, the wi-fi connection will not be monitored.
"No ethernet connection"
- If the device loses the ethernet connection following icon will be shown.
"Poor ethernet connection"
- If the ethernet connection on the device is unstable, or PING to the server takes too long, the following icon will be shown on the device. These two icons, no ethernet or poor ethernet, can not be shown simultaneously.
Wifi-connection
Wi-fi bad connection icons can only appear if the device is not using an ethernet connection, and wi-fi was previously configured and connected. If an ethernet connection is in use, the wi-fi connection will not be monitored.
"No wi-fi connection"
- If the device loses wi-fi connection following icon will be shown.
"Poor wi-fi connection"
- If the wi-fi connection on the device is unstable, or PING to the server takes too long, the following icon will be shown on the device. These two icons, no wi-fi or poor wi-fi, can not be shown simultaneously.
Server connection
Connection to the server will always be monitored. As soon as some kind of connection issue is detected, an icon that represents the connection issue will be shown in the top bar.
"Bad server connection"
- If the connection to the server is not established (DDP channel is not established over WebSocket secure connection), the following icon will be shown on the device.
"Device user is not authenticated or room not found"
- If the device user is not authenticated to the server, the following icon will be shown on the device. Also, this icon will be shown in the edge case when the user resets the HCP service, and configure the server again with the same IP address. The device will be able to connect to the server, but it will not be able to connect to the previously selected room. When a user tries to book a room, a "No room found!" error will be shown.
