Screen Approval for Humly Floorplan, Wayfinding, and Visitor

This article will explain how to approve a Floor Plan, Wayfinding or a Visitor screen in Humly Control Panel.

  • This feature is available in HCP 1.29.0.x and newer versions.
  • All existing screens should be approved once the HCP is upgraded to 1.29.0.x

Starting in Humly Control Panel 1.29, each screen showing either Floorplan, Wayfinding, or Visitor has to be approved to continue to function.

The Approval process is similar to connecting a new Chromecast.

Humly Control Panel Global Admin will be required to type in the PIN shown on the screen in the Humly Control Panel device approval link, and then the screen will be approved.

Below is an example of the process:

  • When a new screen is configured to access (Floorplan, Wayfinding, or Visitor), the device will show the below screen for the first time.
  • HCP Global Admin should access the link shown on the screen or scan the QR code to access the approval page and enter the code, then click continue
  • A summary of the device type and location will appear. Check if the information about the device you want to authorize is correct, and click authorize.
  • Device authorization message should appear for the global admin, if you have another screen that needs authorization, you can repeat the process by clicking authorize another device. Or you can continue to Humly Control Panel.
  • Once the above success message appears, the Floorplan, Wayfinding, or Visitor should load and be accessible on the screen.
  • Once the screen is approved, it is permanent, and it will not be affected by HCP upgrades.

  • A new feature to manage the list of approved screens will be introduced in the coming releases so the HCP admin can revoke the authorization of an approved screen.
