Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Implementing multi-factor authentication significantly boosts and enhances the security of your users. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up MFA with Humly.

Humly support TOTP authenticator apps and we recommend using any of the below:

This type of Multi-factor authentication is specifically designed for users who log in through regular login method and does not apply to those logging in through Microsoft SSO. For Multi-factor authentication with Microsoft SSO, please refer to Microsoft's official guide.

MFA for HBD device provisioning apps, both Andriod and iOS, does not support MFA yet. They should be supported with MFA in HCP v1.31 and onwards.

Setup

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) can be configured by enabling it at a global level, which will require all users within the Humly control panel to set up multi-factor authentication in order to successfully sign in. It can also be setup on an individual level where the users themself decides when logged in to enable or disable MFA for their account.

MFA on a global level

1. Head to Global settings in Humly control panel with your global admin account and enable Enfore multi-factor authentication.

2. Press Enforce in the pop-up.

3. Press Save.

4. All users will be forced to apply for MFA during next login. Follow the instructions depending on what authenticator app your end users use.

 

Enable MFA on individual user level

1. Login to Humly control panel / Humly Reservation through the regular login process with username and password. Press Log in.

2. After succesful login, press your account in the top right corner, press My profile, and proceed to configure Multi-factor authentication.

3. Enter your password and Configure now.

4. User will now be redirected to Multi-factor authentication setup page. Proceed to follow the instructions depending on what authenticator app to enable MFA.
