What is a Legacy device?

General Information

A Legacy device or firmware version are a piece of hardware and/or firmware that has limited functionality in some scenarios. In our case it can be hardware or software functionality that isn't supported on the hardware or older software due to technical limitations.

What qualifies as a Legacy device or firmware is different depending on the function or feature.

For example, between major releases of Humly Control Panel and Humly Room Display firmware, new functionality can be introduced which requires the user to be on the latest version prior to the upgrade to be able to use the new functionality.

Also, since Liso Room Display can be connected and administrated through Humly Control Panel, some features that are designed for Humly Room Display in specific may not work due to hardware and software limitations on the Liso Room Display

Below are a list of functionalities that administrators need to be aware of because of Legacy limitations.

Device Registration

Humly Room Display

If Pairing Key is enabled and the Humly Room Display that is about to be connected is on firmware version 1.4.x.x or earlier, Device Registration also must be open. If the Humly Room Display is on 1.5.x.x or later Device Registration doesn't have to be open.

Liso Room Display

If Pairing Key is enabled and the Liso Room Display that is about to be connected is on firmware version 2.5.x.x or earlier, Device Registration also must be open. If the Liso Room Display is on 2.6.x.x or later Device Registration doesn't have to be open.
